Questions for an individual claim

The vehicles' lane positions should be reconstructed before evaluating fault. For very young passengers, records should describe the injury mechanism and actual treatment rather than assume future consequences. Any conflict between a child's claim and an adult driver's interests should be identified early.

Records to organize

  • The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
  • Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.

Preparing for a consultation

Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
