Questions for an individual claim

A freeway reconstruction should identify traffic conditions before the first impact and distinguish later collisions. Nearby cameras may show slowing or evasive movements outside the immediate crash area. Each operator's opportunity to react should be evaluated individually rather than inferred from involvement in the pileup.

Records to organize

  • The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
  • Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.

Preparing for a consultation

Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
