Los Angeles County · 2026 reporting update
Reported incident
Long Beach police reported a fatal July 21, 2026 pedestrian collision involving a Long Beach Transit bus in the 400 block of Golden Shore.

Questions for an individual claim
Transit vehicles may have onboard recordings and operational records that clarify the driver's view and movement. Preserve those materials through appropriate requests. Any claim against a public operator requires its own statutory and procedural review; the bus's involvement does not establish negligence or waive potential defenses.
Records to organize
- The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
- Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
- Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.
Preparing for a consultation
Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
