Explore 47 Alpine County crash locations
Search named intersections and defined road segments in Alpine County, California. The table displays 47 qualifying compact location groups, ordered by reported injury and fatal crash counts in the January 1, 2020–December 31, 2024 TIMS/SWITRS export.
Historical crash counts are not a current safety rating or a definitive ranking of the county’s most dangerous roads. The selection method excludes records that cannot be reliably assigned. Counts do not account for traffic volume and do not establish fault in a new crash.

How to read the location table
The 47 displayed groups contain 48 distinct crash records. The highest included group count is 2; the lowest is 1. These groups represent a subset of the county export. Counts apply to the named crossing or defined offset segment, rather than the entire road.
This county has 47 qualifying groups under the stated method, so fewer than 1,000 are shown. No locations or crash counts have been added to reach a target number.
Property-damage-only and unreported crashes are not represented. Records may contain approximate coordinates or street-name variants. More recorded crashes do not by themselves establish a greater risk per trip, a roadway defect, or negligence. Traffic patterns and road conditions may have changed since 2024.
Source and selection method
Source: UC Berkeley SafeTREC TIMS/SWITRS Alpine County crash export downloaded October 17, 2026. The source covers January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2024. Read the TIMS data overview and field definitions.
- Each crash CASE_ID is counted once. Only injury/fatal severity codes and usable recorded coordinates within California’s geographic bounds are eligible.
- Intersection groups use records marked as intersection events within the reported city or area. Basic street suffixes and reversed street order are normalized. Other directional words are retained; spelling aliases may remain separate.
- Non-intersection groups use the named primary road, reference road, reported direction, and a 250-foot offset band between 250 and 1,999 feet from the reference road.
- Groups with a recorded point more than 180 metres from their median coordinate are excluded for geographic ambiguity. Only one group per named road pair and reported jurisdiction is selected to limit overlap.
- Eligible groups are ordered by crash count, with an alphabetical tie-break. Up to 1,000 groups are displayed. Equal counts do not establish different risk levels.
Conservative grouping can omit adjacent crashes and records with missing, dispersed, or inconsistent location information. This is a reproducible selection from the downloaded export, not an independently surveyed ranking of every intersection. It is not a statewide risk comparison.
After a crash at one of these locations
Keep the exact intersection or road offset, incident date, report number, original photographs or video, witness contacts, insurance correspondence, and medical records. Historical counts do not decide responsibility or claim value. Read our California car accident guide or contact Weiss Attorneys.
