Questions for an individual claim

Remaining at the scene and providing aid address conduct after a collision, not necessarily the care used beforehand. The approach and crossing sequence still require reconstruction. An investigation should avoid treating either helpful post-impact conduct or an eventual fatality as conclusive proof of the original fault question.

Records to organize

  • The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
  • Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.

Preparing for a consultation

Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
