Los Angeles County · 2026 reporting update
Reported incident
Long Beach police reported a fatal April 11, 2026 collision involving a motorcycle and a parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Pacific Coast Highway.
Reporting source: TRAFFIC FATALITY – 1700 BLOCK OF PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY.
Questions for an individual claim
The parked vehicle's position and the motorcycle's approach should both be documented. Being parked does not automatically establish either negligence or immunity from a claim. The investigation should test visibility, lane placement and the mechanism of contact before alleging a contributing parking condition.
Records to organize
- The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
- Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
- Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.
Preparing for a consultation
Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
