Reported incident

AP reported four injuries when a vehicle entered the front of a Truckee Safeway on February 7, 2026. Police described an intentional act and arrested the driver.

Questions for an individual claim

An allegation of intentional conduct may affect both the civil theories and insurance analysis. Counsel should review the actual evidence and policy language rather than assume ordinary liability coverage applies. Any separate premises claim requires its own factual basis and cannot rest solely on the store being the location.

Records to organize

  • The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
  • Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.

Preparing for a consultation

Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
