Questions for an individual claim

Commercial records may document the route, load and maintenance history. Those records should be compared with the vehicle and roadway evidence before suggesting a mechanical or fatigue explanation. The driver's work status may also affect which claims and benefits require separate review.

Records to organize

  • The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
  • Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.

Preparing for a consultation

Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
