Use the receipt and appointment details to identify the branch

Save your purchase receipt, repair ticket, appointment confirmation or pickup message. Jewelry purchases and service visits may produce records that help establish which branch you visited and when. Keep the original documents and note the store name, address and suite number shown on them.

For a mall or outlet visit, describe the level, nearby stores and entrance you used. Identify whether the incident happened inside the Kay shop or on a shared route. A brand name alone does not establish who controlled the area. Shopping-center management may hold records separate from those kept by the store.

Document the condition and available walking space

• Record the date, approximate time and precise location of the incident.
• Describe the surface or object you actually observed without guessing its origin.
• Keep original photographs showing both the condition and the wider area.
• Save witness contact information and incident-report details.
• Preserve receipts, footwear, treatment records, bills and documentation of missed work.

Write down what you personally saw separately from what staff or other customers told you. If a display, cleaning activity or warning sign is relevant to your account, describe its position and the time you observed it. Do not move objects or recreate the incident to make a photograph.

Identify the cameras and records that may cover the area

A camera aimed at a jewelry counter may not show the entrance or a mall corridor. Give your attorney the exact branch, incident area and time window so a preservation request can identify potentially useful footage and records. Repair or appointment documents may help clarify your visit timeline. Save requests and responses; unavailable footage does not by itself establish responsibility.
