Describe what you actually saw rather than assuming where a substance came from. Note whether employees were working nearby, whether warning signs were visible, and whether the area had recently been cleaned.
Keep the receipt and identify the precise branch, department, and approximate time. If you fell outside, document the doorway, curb, cart area, or parking route and identify who controlled that area. Store staff, a landlord, or a contractor may have different responsibilities. A lawyer can evaluate those roles using incident-date records; a retailer’s current location listing alone does not establish responsibility for an earlier accident.
Preserve the branch and the timeline
- Keep receipts, order confirmations and the exact branch address.
- Write down the incident time, walking route and precise spot involved.
