PEOPLE reported that a teenager struck Ryo Uchimiya’s parked car near Nobu Malibu on October 3, 2026, killing him. Authorities were investigating.

Questions for an individual claim

The first question is where the parked car sat relative to the travel lane and shoulder. Video should show the approaching vehicle before impact; a clip beginning after contact cannot establish the driver's earlier course. Vehicle ownership and permission to use the vehicle also deserve review when the reported driver is a minor.

Records to organize

  • The collision report, witness contact information and original scene photographs.
  • Available dashcam or nearby surveillance recordings, with timestamps preserved.
  • Vehicle photographs and inspection records relevant to the reported collision.

Preparing for a consultation

Keep a dated account of the collision and preserve the original files rather than editing the only copy of a recording. Organize treatment records, bills, work absences and insurance correspondence. A news report may identify leads, but the underlying records are needed to evaluate an individual claim. The reported severity of another person’s injuries does not establish the value or outcome of your case.
